BOLD, MATTE, RED LIPS

There are few beauty looks I love more than a bold, red, matte lip.  And I swear Taylor Swift has been rocking it in every picture I've seen of her lately...and it always inspires me! Red lipstick, especially matte, can look so classy, especially when paired with heavy black top-lid eyeliner like some of the ladies below...

Taylor Swift

Anne Hathaway

Adele

Adriana Lima

Alessandra Ambrosio

If money is no object, you can find 'Russian Red' from Mac, 'Jungle Red' from Nars, or 'Infrared' from Smashbox...but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative like I was, elf has just the solution!

I picked this up a while back at Target for a few bucks - it's elf Matte Lip Color in Rich Red. This lip color is incredible - very highly pigmented and stays on for a really long time. Plus, it's not a traditional lipstick tube - instead, a very cool retractable pencil. elf has impressed me once again!

CHRISTMAS NAILS!

I finally broke down and Christmas-fied my nails this weekend!  I used Avon's Sparkling Red glitter polish, paired with elf's Teal Blue.  I'm not exactly sure why it's called Teal Blue... To me, it doesn't look teal or blue at all.  It's the perfect Christmas shade of green!

I blogged about this glitter polish from Avon a few weeks ago, but I really just can't even describe how pretty it is in person. It reminds me of Dorothy's ruby slippers!  What I love most about it is I don't have to use any other color underneath of it.  It's like a two-in-one polish and glitter.  It's gorgeous!
